Tulip Maps, on your own machine.
Put the studio on your Dock or desktop. It gets its own icon and its own window, and because it is still tulipmaps.com it is always the newest version — nothing to download, nothing to update.
Windows or Mac
One click adds it. Edge and Chrome also give you the proper Save As box, so you choose the folder every file goes into.
Edge: ⋯ at the top right → Apps → Install this site as an app.
Chrome: ⋮ at the top right → Cast, save and share → Install page as app.
Safari on Mac: File → Add to Dock. Safari has no Save As
box, so its files go to Downloads.
On a Mac, right-click the tulip in the Dock → Options → Keep in Dock.
Android — the recording app
A different job to the studio: this is the one you take in the car. It records the road as you drive it, drops waypoints with photos, and works with no signal at all. Bring the recording back to the studio and turn it into a roadbook.
Download for AndroidAndroid: your phone may warn you about the file. It will ask permission to install an app from outside the Play Store. Say yes to Chrome (or whichever browser you used) when it asks.
Why: we haven't paid for a Play Store listing yet. The warning is your phone saying “nobody has paid to vouch for this”, not “this is dangerous”. Downloading straight from this page is the safe way to get it.

Is it the same as the website? Yes — it is the website, in its own window with its own icon. Same studio, same files, same account.
Does it work without the internet? It opens and runs offline. Map backgrounds, place search and route planning still need a connection, because those come from the map servers.
Does it cost anything? No, and there's no sign-up.
How do I update it? You don't — it is always the newest version.
I have the old Tulip Maps program. It stopped getting updates on 6 October 2026 and doesn't have Save As. Delete it, then add Tulip Maps to your Dock or desktop from this page.
