Download it, run it, and Tulip Maps appears in your Start menu and on your desktop. Everything the studio does — routes, tulips, roadbook pages, PDFs — works exactly as it does in the browser.

A different job to the studio: this is the one you take in the car. It records the road as you drive it, drops waypoints with photos, and works with no signal at all. Bring the recording back to the studio and turn it into a roadbook.
Download for AndroidYour computer may warn you about the file. That's normal, and worth understanding rather than ignoring.
Windows: you'll see a blue box saying “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway.
Mac: right-click the app the first time and choose Open, rather than double-clicking it.
Android: your phone will ask permission to install an app from outside the Play Store. Say yes to Chrome (or whichever browser you used) when it asks.
Why: signing certificates cost a few hundred pounds a year per platform, and we haven't bought them yet. Every warning above is your machine saying “nobody has paid to vouch for this”, not “this is dangerous”. Downloading straight from this page is the safe way to get it.

Is it the same as the website? Yes — the same studio, the same files, just running on your machine instead of through a browser tab.
Does it work without the internet? The program opens and runs offline. Map backgrounds, place search and route planning still need a connection, because those come from the map servers — same as the website.
Does it cost anything? No, and there's no sign-up.
How do I update it? Come back here and download the newer one — it installs over the top and keeps your work.
